The Latsis University Prize 2023 ceremony took place on November 13, 2023 at the “Auditoire Piaget” of the University of Geneva, which has hosted this event for many years.
The evening was opened by Ms Anne Hiltpold, State Councillor, Mr Alfonso Gomez, Mayor of the City of Geneva, Prof. Yves Flückiger, Rector of the University of Geneva and President of the Latsis Foundation, and Dr John Latsis, member of the Board of the Latsis Foundation.
Mr. Jean-Marc Jancovici, President of the Shift Project”, French engineer, teacher, author, and lecturer, gave a talk entitled: “Quelle Suisse dans un monde neutre en carbone”.
He is the creator of the “carbon inventory”, which he developed at the « Agence de l’environnement et de la maîtrise de l’énergie ». His comic strip “Le Monde sans fin”, co-written with Christophe Blain (illustrations), is a best-seller in France.
